Xanadu 800ft low fade print

I decided to view this one tonight, it is preceded by two trailers at the start, one for The Phantom of the Opera, (Andre Lloyd Webber musical version), a good trailer but in need of decent record as the original is quite poor, followed by Evita with Madonna, ive never seen the movie but the trailer is pretty good, as is the quality of sound and image.
Then onto the film that is so bad as feature, but cut to thirty minutes is a fun film, Xanadu, the music and Oliva Newton John making it worth while. The print is not the sharpest but is fairly good, the sound is good but again, this is a title that would benefit hugely from a re-record. Although it is letterboxed the image is still quite grainy, more so in reel one, but on this print, the colours do make up for the downfalls especially in reel two with all the musical numbers.
All in all, a good fun, half hour. Plenty of colour and good music. The fact it is 80s stands out a mile.

Review of this print here,

Tom,

Looks really nice there. Always thought Olivia Newton-John was quite pretty and with a unique singing voice. The point you made about the digest being better than the feature seems like it could be a good forum topic. I have heard the Bond film, "Never Say Never Again" is much better as a digest than the entire film...hmmm....what else?
