This is a great little souvenir for me more than anything. This reel captures the very first Concorde flight, flight number 001.This is the derann release and it on LPP polyester stock so the print is very good indeed. Great vivid colours, very good sound and nice bright sharp image. I hope someone here can confirm this, but i have an idea this is are-release of the Walton 200ft Concorde short with the addition of scope which really makes a difference for this short. I have not seen the walton release.

The reason this is a souvenir is simply 30 years ago when i joined the company i work for now, i had only been employed for four/six weeks, apparently, every employees name was put in a hat, (excluding managers, wouldn't happen now though), the prize for the top car salesman in the UK for Vauxhall for a selected number of dealers was a trip on Concorde, they were called flights of fantasy and basically gave you the full on experience from the posh welcome in a private lounge with all the yummy ponsy food and champers, followed by a two hour flight up, around the bay of Biscay and back again complete with the full silver service menu served and of course, breaking the sound barrier. Well, guess who's name was pulled from that hat? MEEEEEE. It went down like a lead balloon with long term staff at that time but did i give a flying F?
Obviously the salesman who did the deed of selling went and i accompanied him, it was fantastic and this little reel is my momentum, along with the pictures i took on the day.

That is simply fantastic to have won that flight on the Concorde. I wouldn’t have been able to stop grinning the entire time. To me, that is a souvenir that would never be sold off, and low-fade to help preserve the memory perfectly to boot!

But now i'm showing off, this is my trip on this superb passenger jet plain, and my 200ft super 8 film, she flies, is the perfect memory of this unforgettable day. And Greg is 100% correct, i will never sell this print off no matter what. It brings this day back like it was yesterday,

What a great story! I have been fascinated by this plane for a long time. There so much more fun to own a film when we have something in life that makes it more special.

Yes definatly agree on that one. It's funny really, if i hadn't gone on that jet i probably wouldn't have given this releases a second look as a brand new purchase. I bought it from the Derann stall at one of the Ealing conventions along with the new release, (at that time) Tarzan Disney promo, the Winchester 73 trailer and our 16mm print of Cromwell. It's weird how everything around this unique event and the purchase of this print simply sticks in my head. The other three items were bought at the same time.
