I'm talking 4000/5000ft? Was idly considering somehow putting all my features on cores then just using a massive split reel to run them on my long play unit. Thoughts?

Can’t say I’ve seen a split spool that big,can you imagine if the holding pin coming away thousands of feet of film going everywhere.
I do have some of my features on bobbins which I then spool up onto a large single reel, show film and then breakdown again.
Also there could be a problem keeping such a large amount of film taught, what would you keep the film in when not in use.Perhaps come up with a16mm platter system.....fun. 😀😀📽📽

There’s a large split spool on eBay apparently holds 2400ft for £79,according to the listing this is the largest going.

They don't core with cores.

Hmm, I reckon I could fabricate something. A thin aluminium platter, then a 4 spoked arm that attaches to the locking wheel of the LPU?
