Thank you to all,(so far) who have replied on this thread,
Philip, thank you for all your technical support. I have never been lucky enough to own a GS1200 or any of the Beaulieu projectors. I did see a particular company charging a few hundred pounds for a new rubber roller. This was enough to put me off buying one. They certainly look the business, and like many machines, i know these also have there problems.
Therefore, anyone who produces spares is to be commended.

I'm still alive - I think - I did collect super 8 at one time but my collecting today is all 16mm.

I received my TQ1 side cover today from Kevin Brown; he had tried it on 3 TQ1s as he said there are slight variations. it fits perfect, and came very securely packed. It was very kind of Kevin, as it was not his responsibility, but as he said to me on the phone, he wants his customers to be completely satisfied.

I rate Kevin Brown as an A1 gentleman.
I have known Kevin for over ten years and he always keeps my projectors in perfect condition.

I have made some rollers for an old fereograph reel to reel tape player i had, they had turned to mush just like they do with some the projectors, elmo cl is a prime example. I used the old phosphur bronze ferell it was on, replaced this with a motor car lower radius arm bush off a beetle car, ground this between centres on an jones and shipman cylindrical machine using a blue standard grit wheel with suds oil, you get a very fine finish and accurate roundness, this is crucial with this part in my opinion. i would like to know what happens when that groove is not there really, so phillip, if your reading this mate, it is not a criticism of your approach to this tricky part to make, i'm merely trying to help you cut the r/d you might have to do. I'm a toolroom grinder by trade, so i know a bit about this subject....................

Just want to say that today I received my compensation from UPS. I thought they were a good company, but looking at reviews on Trustpilot, not many have anything good to say. One person's claim is still dragging on after 5 years.

From my side of the pond I always request FED EX AIR and have had no issues with shipping. The only issue is the cost - it's very expensive.

Bill, sadly, the cost of buying films from over seas is becoming very expensive and in many cases makes the purchase too expensive to consider.
Regarding ebay, i have never used the global shipping system to sell, however, i have made one or two purchases and i found the global shipping on ebay very reasonable when used as a buyer. A few of my customers have asked me if i use it, but to date i always say no. I think i may have to consider this in future as i understand it makes a big difference to taxes collected.
From the US, i have seen some films listing shipping costs at staggering prices, treble the price of the film in some cases.

Hi Tom, As a seller I am finished with both E-Bay and Pay-Pal. I do still buy off E-Bay but they have changed so many things for sellers and increased their fees that I no longer sell on their site. If you watch the US E-Bay site you will notice there are not as many sellers offering 16mm prints as before. I am not the only collector who has stopped selling there. You are starting to see more films being offered on the forums as well as the Facebook 16mm film collector sites. I so miss the old days of THE BIG REEL magazine when collectors advertised their films and you just called them on the phone, made your purchases and mailed the person a check, one on one so much better than E-Bay. Hi Tom,

I understand (and share) your point of view.
My objective in that case is not not to make business but to offer much better products at a much more affordable cost.
However, as usual, only few quantites will be available.
Just enough to allow Beaulieu's friends to keep using their machine as long as it is possible.

Hi Paul,

For what I can observe on rollers samples, roundness and concentricities are satisfactory.
Also ball bearing housing has been checked and precision is satisfactory.

As soon as I make tests on the machine I will provide results.

May be I have a question for Beaulieu users :

I have observe from my side that pinch force is around 1,5Kg on some machines. If somebody can measure this force on his machine, just to give me an idea.
