Gems in your collection

What rarities do you have in your collection?
I think this little film is rare, unfortunately my screen shots are not good. This 16mm film, titled 'Anthem' was made by the Dawn Trust, Aylesbury, Bucks. It only runs for 2 - 3 minutes, and features a choir singing 'The Hallelujah Chorus'; in itself that is not interesting; what is interesting, to me at least, is that 4 rather poor looking men come into the church and take a seat at the back. When the camera stays on them for a while, you can see that the second from the left is actor Eric Portman. This is not recorded on IMDB.

For me it's a 400' digest called "I Bombed Pearl Harbour" which is taken from the 1960 Toho war film "Storm Over The Pacific". Oddly enough the title on the box (which features some truly awful box art) has the title misspelled "I Bombed Parl Harbour"! The digest runs about 17 minutes and concentrates on just the Pearl Harbor raid. The full length film has the main characters dealing with that and the Midway attack. My copy still has decent color and very good sound. No clue who released it as the box doesn't show a distributor. Here's the box top (which looks like a child traced it from the Ken Films "Tora!Tora!Tora! box.)

Some of those films bring back memories Tom and Andrew. What was interesting was that Dan Duryea appeared in both versions of 'Winchester 73'. I was shown a print of one of the Stingray films many years ago, and it was great quality.

Winchester 73 was the first film where an actor, James Stewart, did a deal to take a percentage of profits rather than a wage. It started the millionaire actors.

Ah yes that's right Tom, couldn't think for the life of me who released it until you reminded us all it is indeed a full length Marketing Print.

Lovely print Tom, and good to see its keeping its colour really well!
Well done to you Tom!

I've got the full length 'Oh Mr Porter' 5x400. Also a reel from Brakespeare films, that was run by a film historian, it covers the period 1895 to about 1903, and includes some incomplete shorts from Robert W. Paul, and troops returning from the Boer War in 1899, as well as a street scene in China in the 1890s.

I guess it must be my The Adventures of Robin Hood, Highlander, Casablanca, Gremlins, Star Wars 4-6 (sadly 1997 editions), Stargate and Death on the Nile

Robin Hood is stunning Vidar, I only have the Derann 4 X 400 and the colour is on the turn, I may have said before that the Maid Marion reel is very soft focus.

Vidar Olavesen sais Thank You!

Top Cat was so popular in the the early sixties, we even called our cat Choo Choo, and he did 'Blur, Blur, Blur' and never came back. Yeah Benny the Ball was Doberman from Bilko.
