I know for myself, it had been a long time since I posted here on this thread.
yes, when I was looking for Die Hard With A Vengeance, it was March of this year but obviously it cannot pull it up again because although the database knows of the posting and found the reference to the posting, the whole thread had been deleted!
Not a happy chappy regarding this!!!
I have never gone around deleting other people's posts and I don't expect mine to be deleted willy-nilly either.😠😠😠
Even though there has been two similar threads running side by side, according to my searches, the one historically I was looking for, was under the banner of....purchases and seemingly has been deleted??

Most likely won't happen again ... I have a strong suspicion David did this, but can't be sure

I find this very strange. If it was deleted I would not expect it to be possible to see the post like I did with a direct link. Maybe it is caused by a bug? I have deleted double posted posts some times. Could it be that the rest of the thread became detached in some way when deleting a post between? Just a wild guess, but I am not certain this is intentionally. I can just say that if I was the programmer, you would not be able to read deleted posts.

I am not a computer programmer Eivind and I don't know the technical implications from these actions.
All i know about this is I certainly did not request for any of my posts to be deleted, I never will request for any of my posts to be deleted, so therefore as far as I am concerned, they ALL should still be be very much here, unless someone asked me bizarrely "would I like anything deleting?"
Which of course...THEY DID NOT!!!

I agree! I hope it was a bug or a mistake. Or else it would be sad. I would not be very surprised if the software has some rough edges. I have seen some oddities once in a while.

Sorry to be like this, but my bet is on the former admin (do not know which of them)
It fits, with the deletion of Panayotis' posts too

Either way, we all just need to try and ensure whatever anyone posts here, stays here, unless of course it is outside of the forum rules.
I think we can all safely say that none of the admin staff will delete anything from here on in aside from things which fall into the above category, which of course HAVE to be deleted.

Just got the longest day, Super 8 b/w 400'.
The box is in a very good condition. I bought this from a Greek seller on eBay I have bought from many times. Great price and service, but he has many red films. This is b/w, though. Even got a "Thanks" in Norwegian on the post it note: "Takk" :-)
I also found a advertisements for a catalog from Ken Films inside. I liked that.

Good find Eivind! I like when the old film brochures are still in the box!
Mister Magoo: Magoo Goes Overboard. Super 8, sound, 200'.
This is a scope print. I bought just because of that as I had no scope prints. I will get my new scope lens shortly :-)

Eivind, getting a scope lens will bring a whole new world to your film collecting my friend. I got a scope lens last year and absolutely love watching scope films now, in fact I can't get enough of them, I now have The Sound Of Music, Romancing The Stone features as well as numerous shorts including this is scope and Roger Rabbit cartoon.
My only issue with scope as opposed to a flat formatted print on Super 8mm, is the tiny frame is small enough to begin with without << s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g >> it any wider let alone TWICE as wide!
Also there is of course always the commiserate and inevitable loss of light and sharpness through going through considerably more planes of glass than your quality standard zoom lens.
Even a f1.0 or f1.1 c/w with a Kowa 8-Z suffers to a degree.
I like scope films, of course I do to create a cinematic experience, but I'm not so bothered about the whole widescreen frenzy to lose sight of what are the most important factors of all to me, clarity, sharpness, contrast and brightness.
For the very best images available on 8mm, only flat prints can tick all these boxes 100% of the time.
Ironically my latest purchase was a new (to me) scope bracket to enable me to directly fit the 8-Z to the Beaulieu once it arrives and I do a little work to it.

Just dropped in the mailbox ... Laurel & Hardy's. One Regular 8 sound film of The Chimp (I still want a Super 8 of it, as this looks to be incomplete Blackhawk. Should run 25 min. and that would be hard on a 400' I assume). The other a silent Super 8, Blackhawk called Bacon Grabbers (not seen this in many lists)
Closer and closer to making it a good Laurel & Hardy collection
