Hannie Caulder, full length. No its not

I see on another channel, someone has put up for sale,Hannie Caulder full length. I hope the potential buyers realise it wont be. Released by Walton, the 4 x 400ft is indeed abridge and shortened by around 15/20 minutes or more.

Is the Walton feature really missing that much? The complete film is only 85 minutes so I always assumed the Walton version was only missing 5-10 minutes at most.

I should point out the seller hasn't stated it is the Walton version or any distributer. It probably is Walton but not totally sure without any screenshots not even the box.

It is possible this could be a 'Full Length' Optical sound version printed on thin polyester which someone had a mag soundstripe added and then squeezed onto 2x800ft reels. Probably not as I'm also guessing it is the Walton version, but as usual from this seller no screenshots and little information.

The walton version runs for approx 72 minuites, we sold our walton print after around 30 years, it is a good edit but when we found a full feature on 16 which a member on here directed me to, i was surprised at how much was missing, not short snippets but whole scenes and it is a good 15 minutes difference in the run time.
I would be very surprised if the print for sale is anything but the walton version.
Perhaps the seller could clarify as the thread may well be very mis leading, rules of the forum and all that BS.
If it is full length then i stand corrected but on 8mm i have never seen anything other than the 200ft extracts and the 4 x400 abridged version.

Happens all the time with listings on 4x400 films, why not go on the other channel and ask the question? Mark

Anyone know why many/most Walton features are slightly edited? Did they do the edits, or was the neg they were licensed already edited?

I have 2 Walton features -- THE FLYING DEUCES and Hitchcock's THE LADY VANISHES. Both good edits, and you wouldn't know they were edited unless you've seen the full-lenght versions. Still would have preferred they were complete.

I have no idea what HANNIE CAULDER is -- I'll have to look it up.

🤣🤣🤣 Simple Mark mate, I'm not allowed on there any more because i speak the truth and call people out that take the p*** and they dont like that,

In this instance, it may be a simple error but those on there should pick up on it so any buyers wont be dissapointed.

Fair enough Tom, if it's a long term collector then they should know better and anyone who knows Walton prints would know they are slightly edited, Mark

It is possible there is a rare optical striped magnetic print but somehow, I doubt it very much, hopefully those who look in here from the dark side may pick up on it and get it corrected.
