Video from Blackpool 2023

#1 by Eivind Mork , Fri Dec 08, 2023 7:58 am

Here are 30 minutes of video from this year's Blackpool! As usual we follow the program from Friday to Sunday, but this time we also have some short interviews with people who were there. Ged and Adrian did a follow up from last year's Q&A. Here we can get a glimpse of that. A full video of the Q&A will be published later in the winter/spring.

A huge thanks to the organizers for making a fantastic weekend! Also a big thanks to the dealers on Sunday! The room was packed with more dealer tables and more people, and the queue was longer than I have ever seen it.

Eivind,

Great sharp pictures inside. Can I ask what camera you used, it looked like a go-pro or similar, very small? I ask because my own camcorder takes great footage outside in daylight, but inside unless there is a lot of light, it can be a bit grainy. Your footage is brilliantly sharp and clear.

The main camera is an Osmo Pocket (first generation). That camera has a built in stabilizer.

For low light (dark rooms) and when I needed a zoom, I used my phone, a Samsung Galaxy S22.

In addition I had two action cameras, a GoPro 8 and an Akaso Brave 6. That were set on a small tripod (selfie sticks with tripod legs).

For the Q&A with Ged, all four where in action.

That is a very well done video and so being this long is so much better as it enables everyone to see so much more than the usual shorts. Well done Eivind.

Tom, a few years ago you was all set to go to Blackpool. Any thoughts on whether you might try again in the future, you won't regret it even if you never return?

I'm looking forward to going back next year but will stay longer next year for the full experience.

It is possible to just stay overnight one night as I have done (to cut costs) and still attend the dinner and the Film Fair then leave on the same day. I live in north Kent but just takes a few hours by train.
