Yesterday Christopher Plummer died at the age of 91.

He can be seen in several Super 8 releases including Sound Of Music.

Just read an interesting article about him in a paper - he was a real character - hated the sound of music when he was filming it - The Sound of Mucus he called it - his behaviour on the picture was awful - he really thought it was beneath him as he was the big theatrical star - who had little film experience - and he was intimated by Julie Andrews who was the great musical performer and had scored massively with Mary Poppins. As he got older in his twilight years he did come to appreciate the film. But he was a great film actor, his performances in The Man who would be King and Silent Partner are excellent - I've got Silent Partner on 16mm and a full length print of the Sound of Music on Super 8 - so I might put something on to salute his talent and passing - RIP Mr Plummer.

Definitely a character, he trained to be a concert pianist and was very good at it, known for taking his acting career very seriously, I liked him in Return of the Pink Panther, looked like a lot of fun filming that, shame to end with a fall and possibly a head injury, a very talented man, Mark

You should watch him All the money in the world, he plays J P Getty, and the scene with the red phone box is surreal, i now know why he was filthy rich............

I saw Sound of Music' twice at the cinema; my sister took me first time, then I persuaded my parents to go and see it. Have seen very little of his performances; one in a wartime film with Susannah York; Tripple Cross, as Eddie Chapman, and as King Herod in 'Jesus of Nazareth'. Of those I thought his performance in The Sound of Music the best. He had real star quality in that film.

Very sad,
What a great acting career he had. Once we are up and running our first 16mm viewing will be Waterloo and also the feature of Sound of Music. RIP
