Below is a picture of a 16mm film piece with some numbers on the edge. The numbers read D60 0101 8029
I assume it’s the film type/year manufacture, please anyone know can identify what these numbers mean.Thanks.

Gwyn,

Although I don't know if this is useful to you or not--there is a "KODAK KEYKODE NUMBERS" reference chart here:

https://www.kodak.com/uploadedfiles/moti...Manufacture.pdf

And on page 3, there is a reference for "KD" as being from 1997...

Thanks Greg for the information.I have looked at the pages and it does tie in somewhat with the film itself. The film is a re release made in I think 2000,or printed just before. Many thanks.

It is not the latent image edge numbering on the positive print stock. Which show as black on the positive print stock or date code. It looks like print-through from the camera negative stock which shows as white numerals on the print. Camera negative stock has a latent image of successive numbers per foot, so that the original neg can be matched up to the cutting copy. Sometimes film stock was overprinted with special footage numbers, for instance, when two or more cameras were used to shoot a scene and the neg from each camera could be identified during the edit.

It is from the camera original. Perhaps a reversal stock like Tri-X?
