Laurel and Hardy. The Music box 600ft Edition.

#1 by Tom Photiou , Mon Mar 26, 2018 9:51 pm

Reading Vidars viewing of Oliver the 8th got me in the mood to take a look at our L & H collection. Tonight i viewed this excellent 600ft full version of this timeless classic The Music Box.
I dont think there is anyone on the planet that does not know this Laurel and Hardy award winning film.
I am unsure who did this full version, ( i think it may be a Derann re-print) but it appears to be on LPP polyester stock, the image is excellent and the sound very good. Although its on colour stock it has a look of pure B/W.
For many years we had the Walton 400ft STD 8 sound edition was also a very good print, but this 600 foot complete version is the winner for obvious reasons.
Has anyone on here actually been to the states and seen those now famous steps at 1127 Walnut Avenue?

Yes this looks like the Derann later 600ft complete print of this classic Tom.

I have this on 2x 400ft. I'm not certain who released the version I've got but it is on /b/w stock and is complete over the two reels.

Walton did an abridged 400ft Super 8mm print also I think.
