When i opened the tin, this is what i found!. I know it only needs a good clean up but still!!"

I had something like that once from Ebay, wondered if it had been kept in damp conditions. Was OK after a clean.

Was this from a well known dealer in the North?; I think a wipe over with some film cleaner will remove that, hope it hasn't spread to the inside. Was it in a can or a box? I once found some mould on a film in a can; I think it was caused by being well lubricated then put in a can that didn't allow it to breathe.

Tom
The white powder is the product of rising damp. It is dried up water with lime in it.
It may be removed with isopropyl alcohol, but the original damp may have encroached onto each side of the film, the worst being on the sound track.
Return to seller at once. Don't bother with it.

No fun at all opening a parcel with a new film in that condition. In a way I hope it is not beyond cleaning.

This was from a dealer, im sure itl be sorted as i have mailed them with the images, disappointing though. Maybe im not learning!!!
Will let you know the outcome. This one was supplied in a metal tin. Also mouldy inside!
I know second hand stuff can be touch and go but this is pretty grim. No VS though.

The film and can was probably alright when they first got it, and it's appeared since it was on the shelf.
