Sean Connery

Well the man who brought us the 1st and some may the definitive portrayal of James Bond has passed at the age of 90 - some may say he was limited sometimes in his range - but what a career and what a movie star - he will be greatly missed and my copy of Goldfinger and Robin and Marian will get an airing to salute the great scot. RIP.

Just heard....just recently over the past few months watched all the Bond films (mixture of media) with 2 being super 8...YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE being one...so his performances as Bond are fresh in my mind. He certainly set the stage for things to come....sad to hear the news. So many great films he made. He had a full life. I have a super 8 optical feature of THE UNTOUCHABLES that I should screen today as a tribute. R.I.P

I watched a documentary on Sean Connery a few weeks ago.
It was on sky arts, a series called discovering film. It was an excellent programme and i have to say i never realised quite how many films he actually did. Two of my favourites are The man who would be king and The Untouchables. One i am trying to find on 16mm. One of our Countries best actors.RIP

Sadly we knew this day would come at some point ....I just watched some Bond trailers on 16mm last week. I never tire of viewing the Connery Bond films--preferably on film of course, but beggars cannot be choosers either....

He is in the top five of my favourites actors. He has been great in all the movies where he performed.

"The Name of the Rose" is one of my prefered movie. It is noticeable he played with Mickael Lonsdale in this movie and who is died in september 2020 at 89 years old too.

Now they met together in same paradise.

Rest in Peace Sean, I ll continue to watch all your movies with a particular emotion.

I liked him in some of his later roles also, I thought he was outstanding in "Outland", and of course his Oscar winning performance in "The Untouchables". He was one of those actors who seemed to get better as he got older, even his last movie "The League of Extrodinary Gentlemen" has its moments, and Connery was the stand out once again in the cast. Another of the stars made in the 1960's, who carried on well into the Noughties, how many can you name who was a star for so long, he will be missed by all cinema lovers worldwide, he had that appeal!
