Identify this Craven Instruments item please

#1 by Tom Photiou , Sun May 24, 2020 8:28 pm

My Brother had this item and unfortunately for him, he cannot remember what it was for. As i recall, it was given to him with his Eumig 940 multiprocessor projector some years ago.
The projector was sold to us by a so called friend. When we got it we could see it had obviously had some butchered work done on the slider switched as well as a few other problems.
He gave us this item and a few others as a way of an apology.

Tom
It's the Craven Instrument Company's 25 watt amplifier for all film shows. The microphone socket lets you mix voice and music. The wide range tone control filters out background noise. Price in 1982 was £39.50.

Thank you Maurice. Its my Brothers but i dont think hes ever used it. I have it with me at the moment along with his 807 Euming so i will give it a try but suspect we will sell it on. He tends to be content with his eumig extension speaker by itself.

Tom
Judging by its size and the DIN plug I would say it was designed for the Eumig 800 series with the projector sitting on top of the amplifier. I had a similar amp for my 807D many years ago, but I can't remember the make.

Hi Tom,

I bought one from Classic last year and when you plug it into an Eumig and then link it to an extension speaker - it sounds great - when I use mine I link it to my pair of Elmo speakers and the quality of the sound is great.
