I know it's not quite appropriate, but the other Forum doesn't connect.

The server is not responding. I am sure the service provider is looking in to it by now.

Maurice,
Funny isn't it, how our usual, comfortable routine of checking various film forums/websites is disrupted when a technical glitch occurs!
Glad the other forum is back to normal.....

Its a pity many more on that site dont use this one, its easier to use and uploading images is so much easier.I dont get it. I know many use both, (as i do), but more so, many on there wont even give this a try.

I am sure Mr. Klare won’t, but I see no reason not to check out other forums too. Granted, been a while since I visited the two (?) others
They would be most welcome to check it out, but their choices

Tom and Vidar,
I also check out the other forums. Of course, it is good for the hobby to have other forums and to have Ged's Derann FB group and Vidar's Reel Market Place FB group as well. I do wish some of the folks that frequent the 8mm film tech forum would also visit here though.
We get a nice group of regular members visiting our pages here on a daily basis, but many are "readers" and not often "writers/contributors". With all the experience and knowledge these long-time film/projector experts have it would be great to hear more from them. ReelMagic seems a positive place for postings and comments without encountering any overly critical feedback, which I think is a plus.
Like you said, loading pictures is easy, but I think I will make a post documenting this process for those who may have a question or two on how to do so.
Suggestions are welcome in terms of what we can do differently or better to enhance this forum. Please feel free to PM myself, Vidar and Eivind if you prefer, or you can post directly to forum too.

Said with slight contempt, he can’t stand me, I can’t stand him. I like most people around both forums and the Facebook pages, but can well be without him

I'm curious what websight the 'other forum' is. Film-Tech here in the states banned me years ago because I complained that every sale post went straight to an Ebay ad. They didn't like that. Dan Lail also had a beef with me for the same reason but also because I had a problem when his users threw a tantrum that I announced the discontinuing of 3D home video support here but also the same fact that every sale ad led to an Ebay advertisement. Not sore about being banned from sites because I always do honest business but I believe the film market has been damaged hugely by people on Ebay and their followers.

When ebay first started becoming the place to buy and sell i was very much against the website. I said it would be very bad news for dealers, and i still believe it has speeded up the demise of the hobby and its dealers.
But some years later it is clear that it is the place to pick up some good bargains as well and of corse it does seem to be the place to get a lot more for cash to buy.
Im still not a huge ebay fan as there are so many idiots asking ridiculous start prices and dissapointingly, many of those are collectors we know who should know better. At the end of the day ebay cannot be avoided but if used sensibly with good clear honest listings with sensible start prices it is a place to do some buisness. But like you Erik i do prefer to buy from known collectors. Although my last purchase was just this it shows ebay is not always the bad guy. Many of us have been stung by many dealers over the years including Derann.

Thanks Tom. Got stung myself too many times years ago by Ebay so I steer away from it. It has been a long time but I am still not thinking Film-Tech isn't biased towerd Ebay sellers and I'm not changing my mind. Ebay may have changed over the past few years but I got burned like crazy on there. Private sellers seem to be more honest about their goods and I'd rather do business with them.
