Most memorable soundtrack?

#1 by Vidar Olavesen , Fri Jun 07, 2019 5:09 pm

What do you think is the most memorable movie soundtrack(s)

Mine is of course, John Williams with Star Wars, Superman, Raiders of the Lost Atk, Jaws

Also Ennio Morricone with Fistful of Dollars and The Thing 82 (which leads to John Carpenters Escape From New York)

Hope you consider sharing your favorites

There are so many for me, difficult to single any out really but here is a few of my favourites,
All the spaghetti westerns along with a little know movie with a great Morricone theme "The Red Tent"
Jurassic park, Starman, the opening score on superman 2 by Ken Thorn, (as it opens on the super 8 2 x 600 version), Many of John Barry's and Robin prince of thieves.

Vidar,

This is a fun question but really hard to name just one all-time favorite soundtrack. I like John Williams' Star Wars, the John Barry's James Bond films, old Eastwood westerns, some of the Tarantino film's, some 1980's films like Valley Girl, and some of the John Hughes' film soundtracks. One thing we can all agree on is how much a well-done soundtrack really adds to overall enjoyment of a film.

Name as many as you want :-)

Basil Poledouris Conan score is great too, and the Terminator score is awesome

This version is cool, as I love guitars ... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sEMX7OBrjCs

Oh, how could I forget, Battlestar Galactica https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pHp9oZPqs8E

Peggy Sue, as mentioned https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LmtgCtZE0fs beautiful score

I forgot about the Conan one--I really like the original Conan the Barbarian with Arnold, and the soundtrack is excellent. Would be great to have that on 16mm!
Guitar version of Terminator from youtube is interesting--not bad at all!

Many great ones here. I also has Star Wars, Jaws and The Good, The Bad, The Ugly, Raiders Of The Lost Ark on my list. I would also add 2001 A Space Odyssey, Back To The Future, Deer Hunter, Dr. No,Casablanca and Pink Panther.

Totally agree with Colin on Ben-Hur and Lawrence. Miklos Rosza was a star.

Also love Thomas Newman's American Beauty, Revolutionary Road, Shawshank Redemption; John Barry's OHMSS; Alan Silvestri's The Abyss; and John Williams's Jaws and Saving Private Ryan.
