Perfect topic for the time of the year Greg, hopefully this will run right up until Christmas, would love to know what people are watching over the Christmas period.

For me it will be:
Mickey's Christmas Carol
Pluto's Christmas Tree
Toy Tinkers
The Small One
Tom & Jerry - The Night before Christmas
Maybe also The Mole and the Christmas Tree if I am up to changing to 16mm through the show.
December/Christmas is indeed the best time of the year to watch film for me. I get all my good childhood memories back :-)

It's great when most if not all of the festive favourites we all grew up with are all available on film, some hard to get hold of but they are out there and when we do eventually get hold of them it is very special, wonderful time of the year.

I picked up The Silent Partner in Blackpool with Elliot Gould and Christopher Plummer - with Captain Von Trapp as a psychotic bank robber dressed as Santa - a cracking adult thriller

This year I'll be showing the wonderful Holiday Affair starring Robert Mitchum and Janet Leigh, along with a brilliant late 50's oddity :The Twelve Days Of Christmas, a colour short with art direction by Ronald Searle who was responsible for the Molesworth books and the St Trinians title sequences.

Well tonight was one of if not the best Cinematic experience I've ever had on super 8mm. As most of you know, my favourite film of all time is The Wizard Of Oz, well in the summer I re recorded it into stereo and tonight I watched it for the first time since re recording it, WOW what a difference, the sound was amazing and it is of course a lovely Derann print too, finished it off with Thank you Very Much the 200' from Scrooge, again re recorded into stereo, the sound again sounded amazing, one very happy collector tonight

Yes, Eivind, please do. You can borrow my sync box (when I find it again). We really need more people who can do this. My Goofy’s Glider and spare print of Lonesome Ghosts needs sound ;-)

Had my first Christmas film night yesterday.
We watched
* Mickeys's Christmas Carol
* Tom & Jerry: The Night Before Christmas
* The Small One
* Santa's Workshop and The Night Before Christmas (to of the four cur downs in A Walt Disney Christmas 400')
I really enjoyed this, and my son loved Mickey's Christmas Carol. He didn't like the new 3D version of this from Disney as it was too serious/scary, but this version he loved. I have wanted this for a long time, and bid and lost on this last year. This year I got a copy, and it was fantastic! Truly happy with the acquisition! This will be my gem for Christmas together with Pluto's Christmas Tree and Toy Tinkers!
I had to leave out Toy Tinkers and Pluto's Christmas Tree. I love those, but will have to watch them alone later. My son feels too bad for Pluto and Donald with all they go through :-) The same goes normally for Tom & Jerry as Tom is always unlucky. But this one has a happy ending, so it is OK :-)
The Small one was watched for the first time. I hadn't watched it in any other medium either, so this was a true first for me. It was a great Christmas film!
For me Christmas is the best time of the year to watch films. It brings all the best childhood memories back.

Dell, on 16 the ones i would love to find are Scrooged with Bill Murray, (one of my favourites) and of course the elusive but very popular Home alone, or even HA 2. The second one wasn't too bad but after that they were all a waste of time.
Now Marks mentioned it, Trains Planes and automobiles is a great one too, although oddly enough, i dont think of it so much as a Christmas film but it is along with the brilliant Trading Places. Another one i would love to get

if only Derek Simmons had listened and released that scope feature.
i bet it would have been one of the most sought after titles now.

Derek was so anti seasonal films, Barry Attwood done everything he could to persuade him to release Home Alone on to super 8 but he would not budge
