Finally got the 30th anniversary of The Snowman DVD and managed to re record my sub standard sound copy this afternoon. Watched it tonight and have to say WOW, unbelievable sound, at the beginning you can now hear the wind blowing in the field, it has to be the best sound I've heard yet on super 8, I got the wife to come and have a look at it and she actually sat and watched the whole film, she was very very impressed :-). I then sat and watched Mickey's Christmas Carol :-)

Del , I thought that all DVD's of the Snowman do not have the Raymond Briggs opening and instead have father Christmas at the start. I presume this made recording difficult ??

Hi Graham, it was the 30th anniversary mate, it has the Raymond Briggs opening as a special feature, this opening overlaps the actual film making it possible to re record, it sounds fantastic, Del.

Well done on the re record Dell, i bet this title benefits above many on a good re record, anything musical,
It would be great for anyone who re records to put up a good thread on this subject. Although a collector of 40 years i have never attempted it, and in this day and age i have no idea what equipment is required or anything. I am aware that an Elmo 1200HD is NOT the ideal machine for it.

I know xmas is gone now but Thursday we viewed my excellent print of Mississippi Burning. I know it's not a xmas movie but it was officially a pressy from my Mummy, Great movie.
