Yesterday: Drove 3 hours to a location, blocked, rehearsed, and recorded scenes for 4 hours, drove 3 hours back home. 10 hours spent for roughly 15 raw minutes of footage (600 ft of 16mm). I finally found an actress for the lone female role via a former theatre instructor of mine. Her recommendation worked very well! I can't wait to review the footage after it is processed and scanned. Still have a few more scenes to capture, the finale for one, but I feel very good about yesterday's shoot. Well, other than hauling a coffin to and from the location in my pickup.

Hopefully I can get a 16mm print or two, and a 35mm print struck after it everything is done.

and Emma!

600 feet of footage fresh from the lab! Negative, so I am waiting for the hard drive with the scans to arrive so I can review it. I really feel like a kid too excited to sleep on Christmas Eve!

I have enough footage shot to where I can begin editing (an adventure in itself!) while waiting to shoot other scenes. Then comes grading. Some low-res grabs

Almost a wrap! The finale was shot this past weekend in addition to other scenes; despite the cooler temperatures here in Texas (90 as a high) the makeup (no prosthetics, only went the Jack Pierce route) lasted just long enough to get through rehearsals and takes. Once I get the footage processed and scanned, I can see if any reshoots are necessary. Just about two scenes left to shoot and then off to complete the editing.

Footage is currently being edited, three scenes left to capture and a few additional shots needed. I used two cameras during the shoot of the finale due to the nature of makeup, time, and temperature. There was a slight issue with the B camera, scratching/marking the film despite cleaning the gate and interior components, BUT, with this being shot on film the end result lends itself to the aesthetic. Even the cast and crew are excited with what I have shared with them. I can't wait to get the final cut together for scoring!

After 6 years of planning, filming, set-backs, and everything life could throw at me, I wrapped up filming this past Friday. The film from that day of shooting is off to the lab for processing...

Last batch of takes received. Taking off of work next week to concentrate on editing! I'll need to calculate how much film was actually amount of film shot for the project as what is pictured is just a fraction.

Behind the scenes of the soundtrack with composer Andreu Jacob; bits of the film are shown in this mini doc.
