Thank you Vidar. I've missed the communication with you. I feel good about returning with some recent changes that have been made. ;-) I am looking forward to sharing some films bought in recent months. Both 8 and 16mm. :-)

I anticipate your screenshots Mark! I am not fussy either. Red prints, scratched prints, worn prints, perfect prints...it's all beautiful to me! :-)

Welcome back Tim; been trying to get you to return for some time, but that wasn't possible until today. Really great to see you back as part of the old team. I will look forward to hearing about your news, and especially the 16mm, as I don't remember you were into that guage when I was last here.

Oh yes Robert! I have been collecting both silent and sound 16mm! I love handling the larger reels and running the older machines! :-)

Same here Tim. I watch it more than Super 8. Also I don't mind red / faded prints. You get used to it and concentrate on the action on screen. Even a print with an emulsion scratch is better than never having the title.

No it does not :-( Didn't use to be like this. Clicking with a small phone screen it is dangerously easy to hit Flop.

Back to the subject: I too don't mind red and scratched prints. I use gel filters sometimes on very red films, of which I have several. Scratched prints is a bit more annoying, but it has to be very much before I have real troubles with them, Much can be fixed with FilmGuard as well.

I have mostly one thing that bothers me, splices that remove dialogue or destroy an important scene, otherwise mostly okay with me. Have a Harold Lloyd 200’ From Safety Last, that is also quite annoying as the faces are white blobs, no detail, so guess that is how B&W fades?

I did like Tim and started with 8mm and went to 16mm as well. Because of space issues, I mostly look for 8 now, but I agree with the feeling of the larger gauge and projectors. 35 is beyond my reach though.
I ruined one of my first Tom and Jerry's. Spliced it but is missing a second. Bothers me every time I watch it. Much worse than a scratch.

For me, the worse kind of damage are emulsion scratches. I have one or two that are red with a heavy emulsion scratch, not a fine line. But I've got used to them. They might be the only way that I will ever own this particular title, or at an affordable price. The alternative is just the disc, which wouldn't give me so much pleasure. I some cases I have both; so i can watch the perfect image if I want to.
