I will put a video out on vimeo at some point of B&TB I recorded. It will be reliant on the quality of the built in microphone on my compact digital camera, but it would still convince me, if I was listening to it, that there is so much more to be gained from the stripe (especially pre striped stock), than was ever originally given to us, back in the day.

As for CDs being clean sound, remember when they released a box set of Beatles CDs, the fans complained, it was redone with
hiss and crackle on the sound, now where do you stand on that one Andrew?

Can only have come from the Master archive material used Hugh. No other explanation for that one.

How can you judge anything on Vimeo, as you've just said, it is down to the clobber you're recording it on, and us on a computer, bit
like the Television manufacturers selling a super set, ultra clear pictures, super dooper sound, you can only judge it by the one you're watching, pointless.

Without driving to Aberdeen Hugh, it's the best I can do. It will still serve to display the crisp, vibrantly rich sound to an extent. Nice low's and perfect High's.

No, you're missing the point Andrew, it was re issued with sound faults to make it sound like vinyl, the previous being to clean.

Well then it served the purpose for it's fans then didn't it Hugh?

Personally, I like clean when it comes to sound, but then again, everyone has their own tastes with everything in life of course.

Its all getting very subjective here as one mans "nice lows and perfect highs" are anothers idea of " boom and screech ".

Don't worry David, I will skip the 500w Subwoofer and Piezo horns!!

We are just concentrating on clarity here with this one and some form of reasonable fidelity to take to a 21st Century audience.

Standard and Super 8 only for me. I have four features and one short in 16 mm, bought by mistake (!!!) but I watch them at friends' homes and have not been tempted to buy more !!

I guess I'm somewhat backwards! I started with 16mm, and in just the past few months have started in with super and regular 8mm...

Not in my world Michael.

Plusses and minuses for both of course, but I've always been satisfied with quality of image on Super 8mm later prints when used solely in the home environment.

I'm certain 16mm is the way to go for larger auditoriums and audiences though.

So far, the best bonus I have discovered is 8mm sure takes up a LOT less storage space!
