The Little People

Just a passing thought, can our members recollect the "little people", not the Lilliputians of Swifts tale, but the lesser known dealers,
the unsung heroes who more often than not offered a good deal, a lot from private houses.

Like Pinedene Films Southampton. Bought my first 16mm projector from him along with The Silent Partner. Not sure if he's still in the same place, but his outbuilding was like Aladdin Cave, full to the rafters with film.

I still love the smell of film in the morning

Jubilee films, A-U-L circa 1977 - when Cyril first put me onto Derann because he moved entirely on to video cassettes! (about 1985)

No internet back then let's not forget. Birmingham was somewhere i'd only ever visited for away games! ha ha

This is a later photo of his original shop after he ditched selling films sadly. Gawd knows who did his signwriting, "Disks"??? lol

Purchased my very first sound film from there using money i'd saved aged 11, 200ft Star Wars Col/Snd. It was great and I was hooked!!

Whereabouts was that one(Delta) David? I have heard of both the shop and its owner from reading old magazines etc but have no idea where he was based.

I think Manchester based could be Stockport area. Not sure if it was this one based in old cinema. Harry Nadler who sadly is no longer with us also had Fantastic Film Event forget the full title that was Manchester too I think.

Couple of others:

Jeff Films
Famous Films

Thanks David, I knew I'd heard of him before. Perhaps it was Stockport.
It certainly rings a bell.

I shall try to find out for certain now. Thanks again David.
