Does any one have an original scope bracket for the gs 1200 / st1200 made by elmo ? I know the gs one is located on the front and fixed by a single screw, but is the st1200 the same are they cross compatible with each other......

Hi Tom, Can you get a picture of it and put it on here , i have an idea it fits both machines, but like you have never seen an actual elmo stamped up bracket .

Here is the scope lens holders we use on the ST1200HDs. I bought these many years from Paul foster. I think they may have been made by Spondon but can’t confirm for sure. A simple holder that screws into the threaded hole on the front of the body as shown, one for the standard size lens and one for the bigger one to take the Sankor 16D. The larger one is coated with a plastic surface. Both do the job perfectly.
You will see on the back side the set screw which rests against the body, adjust this to get the lens sitting dead central, then lock it so evertime you put it on it should be a case of simply screwing it onto the body and put lens in and gently tighten it up.

Ok, So that does look like it could fit the gs 1200 too, just the one screw to locate it and the adjustment to centralise the scope lens . A well made bracket by spondon, so i wonder if they copied the bracket from an elmo one, or is it a mashup from the guy who made all the bits for them. i know the elmo cl 16mm projector bracket is similar with a swing down hinge, so that the lens can be with or without in second, i do know it won't fit the gs 1200 to do the same job. Thanks tom, some excellent photo's you uploaded. i think i might have an elmo scope bracket that this is copied from, i will get some photo's up if i can find an sd card .....

I honestly dont think Elmo did a bracket of their own for the ST1200s, possibly for the GS but almost certain not the STs.
Perhaps someone may enlighten us?

Paul, a friend and fellow collector has sent something that may also help here and has given me the thumbs up to share, please read here,

"Elmo never made scope brackets for any of their super 8 machines, but did make swing down brackets for the 16mm projectors, i.e. 16cl, 16al, 16aa, the xenon models too etc. Also, all their brackets were 52mm diameter to match the Elmoscope I and Elmoscope II lenses. The brackets you have were made by Dave at Spondon Film Services. There was a nice chunky all metal swing out scope lens holder for the GS1200 made by Tony Shapps of the Wide-screen Centre. I think this is the one Paul is referring to. The female threaded hole on the Elmo super 8 projectors that we use to attach the scope brackets was there to enable a small Elmo monitor screen to be fitted so you could watch the film in daylight on them with the rear projection small screen being about 5 inches in diameter".

Hope this addition also helps you Paul.

I use the same svooe brackets on both GS and ST. Not Elmo Brand though, think I bought from Wittner and can hold a 35mm Rectimascop lens. So the mounting should be the same

This was the smart looking Centa Swing 'Scope Bracket for Elmo GS1200 courtesy of my friend.
This was from the Widescreen Centre way back when they sold Kowa 8z lenses, I forgot to upload this last week so here you go.
There were no Elmo branded brackets, only these aftermarket versions. Looking at this one it is clear to see how good the quality was.

Finally found the sd card, now this is my gs1200 bracket, very much like the elmo cl 16 mm swing away design, simple and works well .

I have checked all over Tom, no makers name on it, but its not home made thats for sure, i think it comes from the land of the rising sun, because of its simple clever design, i think the lens holder could be made to take a smaller scope lens, this is designed for the elmoscope lens, good job i have one ..............
