Here you go,
Just for those who may be interested and taken straight from the reel image,

Christmas trailer reel 4, "Order your print TODAY from The Reel Image for only $124.00, (£97.23), so Jolly Old St. Osborne will load it on his sleigh and be sure to be found coming down your chimney with lots of movie goodies this Christmas!

"Take a trip with Steve Osborne down Memory Lane to Visit the Snack Bar at the Drive-In Theater Era of Yesteryear! For a Limited Time Only, The Reel Image is proud to present a full 200-Ft. Reel of Vintage Intermission Ads in Color and Sound!...
"IT'S INTERMISSION TIME!"
SUPER-8!
COLOR!
FLAT! (No Scope Lens Needed!)
SOUND!
ONLY $128.00! )" £100.36)

Two good examples for the new releases being a lot cheaper from state side and it shouldn't be, certainly not this much!,
if you bought both from the reel image thats a saving of £120!!
or if you did the BIN on both on ebay from the UK seller, you'll save £248 buying from Steve O. Even with the shipping, being that these are only 200ft it aint going to be that much.

Merry Christmas,

Very interesting Tom, that's a big difference in price, must be the non profit making that puts the price up here in the UK?? Mark

I guess so, but i just felt that i needed to share this as the text is copied direct from the reel image website, im not making it up, i do hope someone here in the UK either from dorum films or its supporters could come on and explain why there is such a huge difference. We know they look in and come on to advertise their conventions and goods. There may well be a perfectly simple reason for the differences in which case it can be put to rest.

Funny th\t Mark, it looks like your right, being a busy time of the year, lets give some time for answers, I'm guessing if there is no answer, then the UK customers are being charged a lot more than they should be, no reply to me means there is no real reason, im not taking about an acceptable few £££s here, look at those numbers again,

I just find the whole thing annoying when those involved stay silent, and that speaks volumes.
I guess its up to those who read this thread to make up their own minds. The facts are there to be seen.

So is eBay the only way to buy these from a U.K. distributor?

I said it before and I'll say it again -- the producers of these films aren't doing a good enough job to know their availability. Not that I'd spend the dough on what they've released so far -- from digital sources. Even the other channel doesn't seem to talk about them until after they're released -- and sometimes when they're already out of print. And I never see an "order your copy here" link anywhere.

If I were doing it, I'd do pre-orders (with maybe a 50% deposit) before any money is spent to manufacture. Then do a print run based on # of pre-orders, with perhaps a handful of extra prints to spare. In today's world, if you can't find out about stuff like this in a timely fashion on the internet, then where CAN you find out about it?

This is perhaps the first time since Derann days that I've heard about something when it is STILL avail.

It also wrorries me that at least 2 prints of DRACULA 1958 had sound defects -- and the guy who produced them was not even able to get them fixed. That says alot about quality control.

But what do I know?

I would love a copy of the nearly-complete BATTLE OF THE CENTURY, but I doubt anyone will produce it.
Not interested in stuff like this which would make me curse at the screen waiting for the movie I paid for to start. That is -- back in the days when I actually went to the movies and saw FILM projected, not a glorified blu-ray.

you can sign up to the exclusive Dorun films website where you can be informed and purchase the new releases, other than that, its via the forum or ebay where, as shown, you can pay a lot more for them, and i mean a lot more although so far, no one has come on to explain why this is.

If you have a head about you, you'll buy them cheaper from Steve Osbourne.

By the way, if you dont buy within a few releases, or you dare to ask questions or make any kind of criticism, you wont receive any more emails about new releases. 🤣🤣.
To be fair, regarding sound defaults, this use to happen all the time in the past with general releases, it is something that can be put right, but at the prices they cost these days with so few prints of each, they should be checked prior to being sent out.

One thing I think we can learn from new prints is that action is what people seem to like, Steve O is on his third run of the Danial Graig Casino Royal 400ft reel, its selling well as did Jurassic Park 600ft version and the T3 looks to be doing well. Fast furious action to show off the big screen.
I do wonder why some reels are stating, "very limited release". Why is that? Is it a copyright limit or are they just not selling? To go to the lengths of allegedly producing a negative and and the other costs, surely you need to sell the numbers to make that back, either that or charge £60 more than the same title from the states?

Please at least put me right here someone, I know you're looking in, silence is golden, (or is it) lets have the discussion, if there is an explanation then as said, we can lay this to bed.

"Exclusive" Dorun website list? Why are they putting such a veil of secrecy around this? Don't they want to make money? When I google Dorun films, all I get are results to this forum and the other channel. Same happens when I google particular titles that I now know have been released. Plus, Steve Osbourne embeds things like this, when he does, in images, so they don't turn up in google searches.

I had thought that Dorun was a typo and people meant Derann! lol

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark!

There is ZERO cost in sending me an email, yet I have to pay $300 for a film I don't want just to hear about future releases? No thank you. I've read in old blackhawk catalogs about the cost of sending out their monthly catalogs -- many thousands in $$$ -- and that was in '70s $$$s! Today -- cost is zero!

I'm like Groucho -- I don't want to be a member of a club that would accept me as a member!

ZERO excuse for defective prints when you are paying $300 a pop! A misrecorded track should be easily fixable by them, as opposed to a printing error. When the guy who released the darn thing sells defective sound prints on eBay at a deep discount, you do wonder what the heck is going on!

This is all just curiosity on my part, since I'll probably never buy one of these "film prints" made from a blu-ray.

Is Steve just the U.S. distibutor, or does he produce some of these too?

Again, you would think they would want to MAXIMIZE the number of people buying this stuff, not minimize it! But what do I know?

So how many people are producing these blu-ray prints today? "Dave", Osbourne, Dorun, anyone else? And why are their "sites" google-proofed?

I stand to be corrected, but I like others have attempted to find the “dorunfilms” website to no avail.
What I have found is that each lead comes back to not a website but an email address belonging to a
Mr Mannering aka dorunfilms.
So I guess if you want to know about the releases from dorunfilms then you sign up through email.
That’s the way I see it.Hope that helps.

Aha! The plot thickens!

Yes, I saw a ref to that email from a post on the other channel by Mr. Mannering himself, who is also a member here. I did not know that HE ACTUALLY WAS DORUN FILMS!

I'm surprised the Gestapo lets him advertise for free on that other channel!

Great business practice for 2023 -- no brick and mortar store, no online website, only sell to "exclusive" people!

Get out of line -- no soup for you!

So, if I understand it correctly, this price differential is only for Dorun films? So if you're in the U.K. and buy directly from Dorun (in the U.K.) via the email address, it is more expensive than to order from the U.K. from Osborne (U.S.) after it has already been shipped from the U.K. to Osborne in the U.S.? And then have it shipped back to the U.K.?

All for ads and trailers that I cursed at in the theatre, and cursed at in the DVD player when the menu was locked and forced me to sit thru these things before watching what I wanted on the disc THAT I PURCHASED? Or what I fast forwarded thru on VHS tapes? And now printed to film from those very same discs?

And for the price of just one of those films I could probably get a decent blu-ray projector and view the same stuff from the discs these were printed from?

I just don't get it.

A few years ago someone gave me some new vinyl as a gift. It sounded like crappola. I found out online that it was made from a CD source -- and a poorly mastered version of the CD at that.

Same with film made from digital discs -- crappola.
