I just came across a site that I think I've heard of before, and they sell projectors, splicing supplies, lamps, undeveloped film, etc. Based in the U.S. I won't post the link or the name since I'm not sure of the policies on that. But I was shocked to discover that they are charging $40 for EFP lamps!
They are easily obtainable for around $10-$15 elsewhere. What gives? They don't even mention the brand or any specs, like if they perhaps have a long life. I know that Osram makes a 500 hour version of something like that, but I heard that it is not suitable for a projector, and the shorter life version is better. I think the Osram EFPs with about 50 hour life (I believe) produce a very bright projected image on my projectors. I don't notice a big difference between those and the EFRs on my Elmo ST-1200HD (but I think my EFR is a GE.)
