Film reels

I took 3 reels to work today to tidy them up, I'm not really keen on the metal ones but as they are in good physical condition I was interested to see how they turn out and then decide what to do with others I have ,Mark

Before my last employer had to shut down (a metalworking business), I always wanted to have some custom pieces made with the scrap steel. Lathes, mills, thread mills...

I have to say that I like that green color.

Thanks Don
The green wasn't my first choice but as that was the colour of the moment then that was that, I'm happy with them, clean looking too,I have four more to do tomorrow so see what colour they end up,Mark

Looks good Mark, gives the reels a whole new lease of life. What paint do you use on them?

They are powder coated Tom so not wet sprayed, it's pretty much the same process as new metal reels got back in the day,Mark

Yes Tom it's handy, obviously if I didn't work there then it's not cost effective, the reels would normally be binned but at least they are clean and tidy and have a new lease of life.

A few more reels done today, the two smaller reels got chromed and the two larger are a light met silver.
