I found these over the weekend at a local thrift store. These chalkware figurines were pretty popular in the early to mid 1970's. Made of plaster of paris/gypsum, they were then painted--often by the person who purchased the pure white figurines. These turn up on occasion but are often beat up and damaged due to their fragile nature. I have seen statues like this of WC Fields, Charlie Chaplin, and the Marx Brothers. These will need a minor paint touch up but are still decent condition. They are about eighteen inches in height.....
