Does anyone know where i may get a length of SMPTE test film from please?
I think you could be struggling with this one Tom,used to have them for 35mm in the cinema, but personally not seen any for a while.I would think for 16mm it’s going to be not such an easy find not seen any advertised for sale for ages.
Good luck on this one ,still you never know someone somewhere might have it.
P.s opened a can of test film at the university projection room marked for 16mm turned out to be pieces of film ,scope, adapted scope, flat, colour ,black and white, joined together ,not quite what one expected 🤣🤣

Hi Paul, yes i saw wittners price for 16.5ft. Thats what i call an utter p*** take.
I am grateful to you and the chap on the other channel for putting the link up but i did laugh when i saw it. For that price i may as well send the machine off to john white two or three times and probably still have change left over. While its great that wittners still support the hobby, prices like this will simply have people leave the hobby.
This stuff was a few quid in the day.
Gwyn, that definatly wasn't a good surprise by the sound of it, does the Uni still deal in real film? the P***
BTW, the SMPTE film is for super 8, certainly wont be paying a fraction of Wittners prices, at the end of the day Dave Baker can release 600ft colour and b/w films for the P**** take price this lot are trying to charge for 16.5ft of film, ridiculous is an understatement.

Why do you need this test film Tom, have you really adjusted your eumig so much by putting the new claw and renewing a few circlips, i would image you could adjust it by eye and ear for the most part .......

If im honest Paul, i was literaly going by the service book. Having now seen the p*** take price of the test film, i will just try and adjust it by eye. The main point of the test film is to get the frame side adusted correctly. As of yet, doing the xlaw adustment is something ive yet to do when i get the time.

Tom, Yes I gather the test film was for super 8 for your new refurbished machine, but I dont think I have ever seen one for sale on any site other than the professional ones used in cinemas.Certainly would not pay that price for a short piece of film you may only use a couple of times. Im sure you will line everything up ok.
As to the Uni this was some years ago regarding the tin of test film, the last 35mm show was pre covid Jan 2020 when I showed Duel.
