Well, after some absence here, I am back. In an attempt to have ability to play super 8, I found a local that was selling a Bell and Howell Filmosonic 1744 at a low price. It ran, but needed some TLC. The price was right where I could invest in upgrades and repair. So, I upgraded the DJL lamp with an MR16 system from Tveden Lamp Modules. During that process I ended up replacing the spindle screws as well. Now, time to replace the motor belt...The goal is to have a machine ready for some play soon.

I found a reprint of the service manual (could NOT find a PDF online) and received it this past weekend along with 2 belts from another entity. Now to try and dive in...
