Gwyn
The film shown is the BBFC trailer intro advertising a U certificate film.
It was also used on the heads of U certificate films which did not have a proper BBFC certificate intro. This was in the days of mobile film operators who, like a static cinema, were obliged to show a film's certificate prior to it starting.
I did mobile in the 50s and had to apply to the local council for a Cinematograph Licence.
I regret that I have no idea where you can obtain such items.

Sorry, I don't have anything for sale, but I have many of these, which are part of old British trailers from the 50s and before.

Thank you Maurice and Robert, this certificate was on the front of feature The Great Race that I recently bought, the film is in very good condition the only damage was to the certificate, and about a minute of the opening credits.
If a spare U certificate comes along all well and good but otherwise I am quite happy with the film as is.

I saw the damage Gwyn. This could be repaired if you had Perf-fix tape.

Robert, yes but the picture only shows a small section, the rest is awful none of the sprockets is undamaged and there were tears and the film had been twisted.
I have chucked it and will wait, maybe a piece of film will turn up but if not I can live without it.
Thanks
