Eiki SL2 Help please!!

#1 by Tom Photiou , Sat May 23, 2020 2:56 pm

Just cleaning up the SL2 this afternoon & noticed this awful looking crack on the front sprocket drum shaft.
Aside this the rest of the machine, (as per previous posts) is absolutely immaculate, i wonder what would have caused this? It has never been put through the couriers apart from when it was sent to me, nor has it taken any knocks.
Has anyone had this happen?
Now all i have to do is find another one.

I'm surprised its a plastic roller with a metal drive cog on the outside to do all the work. Two piece item, making it cheaper to make, but the plastic has given up the goat because the torque needed to drive the film through is done by the metal part which is pinned to the plastic part, transferring a lot stress through it, unfortunately something has to give. How are the two pieces held together Tom?, is it a pin locking them together....

Paul, I think it is a one piece unit with the sprocket ring being held onto it by a screw,
