The Liquidator

This afternoon’s lockdown cinema show today was “The Liquidator” starring Trevor Howard,Rod Taylor,Jill st John,Eric Sykes,Jon Le Mesurier,Derrick Nimmo and Suzy Kendall to name but a few.
Story of an American WW11 veteran who becomes a spy,and is tricked into trying to kill the Duke of Edinburgh which is a cover for stealing a Vulcan plane.Taylor is the spy who spends more time chasing the women in the film.Made in 1965 it’s a spy spoof of its era which I did quite enjoy.
The film was on 2 x1600 and1 x 800 all spooled up to one reel. The colour was fair ,condition good, loud sound, pics taken with iPhone and with daylight.

Keep safe.👍📽

Forgot to say last picture shows a 16mm projector being used by Howard to brief Taylor on a mission.
I’m sure someone will recognise it.

Not heard of this film, but sounds great. Always liked Rod Taylor. Do you get to see a Vulcan Bomber?

Robert, the plane used in the film is a bickers valiant bomber so I am led to believe,I know nothing about planes though!
This was a popular film in its day,Shirley Bassey sang the theme song.

I thought it didn't look like a Vulcan; there were originally 3 V wing bombers, originally white. They used a Vulcan in the bond film 'Thunderball'. I found the complete film online; might watch when not so busy.

Gwyn,

I have this on the shiny thing and enjoyed it too. The thing that was hard for me personally was to reconcile Mr. Taylor's character from "The Time Machine" to this character in "The Liquidator", where the role he portrays is very much different. I guess that is the sign of a good actor though....

Rod Taylor usually played a tough character, I think his role in 'The Time Machine' was an unusual one for him. a very good film though.

Greg,
The time machine is a very good film ,to be honest while I was watching Liqudator the film furthest from my mind was Time Machine. The Time Machine is a more serious role compared to Liquidator which I would term a comedy.
I do like the time machine I have it on shiney disc.

Robert if you have a few minutes to spare its worth a view, harmless fun.

I've also not heard of this film but it looks a good one and with a very good cast too.
