My own bit of restoration

#1 by Robert Crewdson , Sun Oct 14, 2018 6:59 pm

I haven't had a big job to do like Tom, but I had some work to do on one of the two Alan Ladd features I recently got,'The Big Land'. Both came on 1600ft spools, but one was overflowing, and I was unable to check it on the rewinds, due to it constantly unravelling. A previous owner probably decided he needed a 2,000ft spool, and swapped it for a 1600ft. It meant getting a 2,00 ft spool, which added to the cost, though I am happy to do that. I have added extra leader and tails to protect the original ones, and the boxes have been labelled.

Wish we could buy those boxes.

I still love the smell of film in the morning

Your boxes are always very smart Robert. The outside is just as important as the inside.

Looking for, Joe Kidd / The Outlaw Josey Wales on 16mm. Good prints only.
