This little 200ft b/w sound reel is one of the best Pathe news reels. Within just 10 minutes it covers This great leaders life from Birth to death and almost everything in between.
The print is on b/w stock and with good sharp image, (considering the age of the material) and very good sound, this reel would complement any film show. Younger generations could do with seeing this, they might learn a thing or two.

I have a standard 8 silent 200' with the title "The finest hours" about Churchill from Columbia Pictures. I assume the one from Pathe Pictorial is something different?

Possibly Eivind , this one does come up on lists occasionally, its well getting just for the sheer quantity of info packed into this little reel.

This one says Gaumont British?; was it released by Derann?. It looks good, certainly covers a lot of ground. I remember listening to the updates on the radio when Churchill was dying.

Robert, yes your right.it is Gaumont and not pathe as i said.
I am not too sure who released one but i do know Derann did some re prints as it is in one of yhe later catalouges.

Hi Tom, I've just sold one in it's original box, lovely print to, it was part of the Gallery Of The Great series, it has Movie-Paks and the Rank sign on the front. Only sold mine because I picked up a brilliant Documentary on 16mm.

I just have two films from the Gaumont British Library, and both prints are excellent.
