When I looked this morning it was at around the £500 or just over......I thought it might make a thousand plus, but this is again more money than sense in my book.

No, looks like that's after 30 bids. If I'm reading correctly, it started bidding at 1p.

Well....can't blame the seller for asking too much. And it's a flat print too! Be interesting to see if the winner pays. I would be skeptical of a bidder with no feedback for that kind of sale.

I bert you could get a 35mm print for much less - jeez you could get a 35mm projector and the print for this money - INSANE doesn't cover it.

#8 — Stuart, you are spot on! Actually I find whole thing embarrassing, as it goes to show the “priorities” some have in life. 🤔🧐
Please note the seller's name: CARTER HAYES (apparently not his real name either, as I believe it is actually Asif Sahil)
If you search for these names on the 16mmfilmtalk forum you will find that a few folks have had some notable concerns/issues with this gentleman in previous film dealings.....I have never dealt with him personally, and I do not know if these previous concerns/issues with him as shared on the other forum were successfully resolved or not. Of course it is a moot point for me as I wouldn't/couldn't pay that kind of money for a film anyways. But as I like to say, each to to their own.

Thanks for looking into it, Greg!
Honestly, it never ceases to amaze me how many people there are out there who want to actively take advantage of hobbyists. Yet another great example why it’s important to be a critical, discerning consumer, regardless of one’s desire for any particular title.
Hi John,
Yes, not sure why people would sacrifice their own reputation for a few extra bucks...makes no sense to me.

As much as i like the film its not exactly a booming action drama that will look amazing on the big screen, in fact, i would prefer my Dances with wolves and Robin prince of thieves as real big screen entertainment.
As Stuart said, you can probably get a 35mm copy for a whole lot less.
What is weird is that the bidding went from 916.00 straight to 2000 with nothing in between. Is this shill bidding at its most obvious and worst i wonder?
All of his films are quite late decent films and, (according to his listings), all hardly used. It's all very odd.
As already said though, "IF" its all genuine, the bidding started ridiculously low and it's up to the buyer what they pay, however, as Greg has mentioned, i would be worried about the latest bidder with Zero feedback or activity. Again, its all very odd.

As a result, I wouldn’t trust it as far as I could throw it. This is an aspect of the hobby that is very unattractive to me.
The vendor is a genuine film enthusiast. No reason to believe that there is not legitimate bidders on this item. It is likely the '0' feedback fake bidder is placed to cover a genuine lower bidder who is fishing for how much a rival has bid. It remains a scandal that eBay allows this abuse of its auction listings.

News item in 2013: "...You might imagine that multiplexes have seen off the old-style privately owned film theatres.
But that's not the case - as both the Galaxy in Long Eaton and the Ritz in Belper are demonstrating.
In Long Eaton what was once a burnt out and derelict former bingo hall is now a modern three screen cinema complex, the Galaxy. Entrepreneur Asif Sahil bought it for £250,000 in 2004 - it opened last week and has 245 seats.
The Ritz in Belper has been open for two months. The building was first used as a cinema in 1919 but, after seeing attendances fall, it closed for the last time in 1991... until now!.."

Carter Hayes - buyer beware....mailed me a package with a newspaper clipping in it (and intentionally to the wrong address) instead of the film - will certainly never deal with him ever again! I did a trade with him, and sent him a mint LPP print. After calling him out on the 16mm forum, he claimed it was damaged, etc. Was finally able to get some compensation thanks to Larry U stepping in, but still a terrible, terrible experience.
I would be willing to be he doesn't even own the print he is listing (as is what happened in my case).

#17 — Yet another example of the many film-selling/-purchasing horrors. It’s one of the main reasons I just give away prints I no longer want and/or are faded, rather than going through all the rigmarole as demonstrated by the countless, similar examples.
The problem is when films get to this sort of money you do start to worry about paying if you hear these bad things about the seller, I know you have some protection from ebay but £3200????
I wonder if it gets paid, how would anyone know.
It makes every one of my 16mm features look like they've been given to me. I will take a look at the other titles with interest. Such a shame as the titles are good and the description look ok,
