I have no idea, Tim :-) But it would be interesting to know. There are two places in the film that shows a subtitle, and that is towards the end. I didn't know before I got to that. Someone has made a sticker with "sound" on the box that looks a bit self made.

I got the sound version too, but how to tell if it was striped after?

Lovely clean prints there gents and like with many WDHM, still containing highly respectable levels of colour despite the age of these prints in many many examples.
It seems once again this morning, somewhat farcical to be discussing such trivia as celluloid products from better days belonging to a bye gone era,in light of overnight events once again and highly regrettably here, but our forums are our escapism away from the on going real life atrocities and debacle we continually wake up to for the time being in this part of our globe, and as such I will myself, be posting a few screenshots this morning from two recent prints among my recent "bargain" lot.
Again keeping Walt Disney and appropriately after these here, Donald Duck as the focus for attention today.
Among the "lot" I received DD Dilemmas Vol 1 & Vol 2 from WDHM and once again, was pleasantly surprised by the standard of print quality and remaining colour from two prints that by now, must surely be closing in on being at least 40 years old now!
Amazing just how well some well looked after film products can and do last when the best levels of stock and master materials of the day were used.
"C'Mon Baggy, Get With The Beat"
Nothing escaping from a busy/bad day into the magical world of real film. I love it all from the moment I pick up the original box with that advertisement flier in the bottom. When the light is out and the film is rolling I am into a different world.
And I love the old classical Disney's. Some of the films made today are great to, but in a different way. But I still think nothing can be compared to the old hand crafted animations. Nothing comes close. We are so spoiled these days film films and entertainment all over. I remember when I was a kid in the 80s and saw Disney's on 16mm on the constitution day at school like Mickey's Trailer.. They were one of the highlights of my childhood. I wonder how it was in the 40s and 50s watching those same Disney's in color. It must have been truly magical.
