Sir Roger Moore pays tribute to The Wild Geese producer Euan Lloyd.

James Bond star Sir Roger Moore has paid tribute to British film producer Euan Lloyd, who has died aged 92. Sir Roger starred alongside Richard Burton and Richard Harris in Lloyd's film The Wild Geese and his history drama The Sea Wolves, opposite Gregory Peck.

The veteran actor tweeted: "Very sad to hear film producer Euan Lloyd has died. I made The Wild Geese and The Sea Wolves with him. He was a true gentleman."

Producer Jonathan Sothcott, p resident of Hereford Films, announced the news of the death of his "great friend" on Twitter, calling him "a legend".
Sothcott had made a film about Lloyd called The Last Of The Gentleman Producers.

Lloyd was born in Rugby in 1923 and his film career began as assistant manager at the ABC cinema in wartime Walsall.

He went on to work as a film publicist before moving into producing and directing.

His last film was Wild Geese II starring Laurence Olivier in 1985.

1982 Who Dares Wins (producer) Derann 600ft feature
1980 The Sea Wolves (producer) Walton 400ft Derann feature
1978 The Wild Geese (producer) Derann 400ft 3x400ft German release too.
1968 Shalako (producer) Walton 400ft? 4xx400ft
1966 Murderers' Row (associate producer) Columbia 400ft
1965 Genghis Khan (associate producer) Columbia 400ft

Euan Lloyd made some great action films, my favourite The Wild Geese with a perfect cast and great score.

One who lived up to The Last of the Gentleman Producers.

Euan R.I.P

It seems it every single day this year that we lose another from the celebrity world of Film, Music or Television,
It has been a dreadful year so far regarding this, it really has.
Nice to at least see in this case that Euen lived to a ripe old age!

You knew when you saw his name in the credits, you were in for some great entertainment, a very sad loss, what a start to the week.

I met Euan and Barbra Carrera the actress at a Premier Showing of THE WILD GEESE 2 .
A very nice man indeed. Barbra was not too bad either.
