I'd get a second copy Andrew, I have visions of this one wearing out. On sequels, I think "The Bride of Frankenstein" was a better
film than its predecessor.

Beautiful pics Andrew, but then they always are, still advise to get a second print, you'll wear it out, nice set up too.
Here's a thought, just imagine if these forums had been active when DFS were still in business and customers could have seen how good those prints actually looked, Derann might have had branches all over the world.

Prints like these Hugh, are my Sunday Best so to speak. I don't run them too often and when I do, everything is verified on a lesser print before doing so on any given day.
In other words, I won't take any unnecessary risks with prints of this quality.

I tend to give the projector a good service/clean before I start running the precious prints, I know it doesn't fix all but does reduce the risk somewhat. Fantastic pictures from a gorgeous print Andrew, once again well done my friend. Was Under Siege ever out on optical on super 8, I know it's Segal but it's a guilty pleasure of mine plus Tommy Lee Jones was brilliant and then there was Erika Eleniak and that cake woooooooooooow.

I do the same thing Del; when I regularly ran Super 8 prints, I still used to find fluff somehow got into the gate, it was annoying watching what looked like a spider's leg moving about on screen for 20 minutes, before I could clean the gate again for the next reel. I have not encountered this so far in 16mm, odd.

With me it tends to be magnetic stripe (and a bit of fluff), I'm assuming that is what it is down to the colour of the cotton buds used to clean the gates.

Brought to the forefront again only to prove to a particular member, that despite their claims, there is no unsteadiness in the image from later Derann prints.
Not unless they were printed wrong to begin with anyhow.
