From this list of " Golden Age "of Hollywood big studios of the past which one would you choose if you could only
watch films from one of them ? Its hard to choose one I know but go on give it a try and give a reason why.
UNIVERSAL
WARNER BROTHERS
20th CENTURY FOX
M.G.M.
PARAMOUNT
COLUMBIA
WALT DISNEY
UNITED ARTISTS
R.K.O.

I'd have to say Universal Studios. From the 30's to the 70's, they released more of my favorite films and television shows than any other studio. From the classic horror films such as "Dracula" & "Frankenstein", to Alfred Hitchcock pictures of the 50's and 60's, to the various television shows of the 1970's.

I really couldn't pick only one, but of course to me, MGM, Fox , W.B. and Disney would have to be part of any favourites I chose.

In my case, I equally have a liking for the modern day "Working Title" releases.

Couldn't pick one David, I would choose Warner over M.G.M for the 1930s. Columbia and Universal were classed as B studios, and RKO which always had the look of a B movie, was actually bigger than the others; most of their films look cheap with the exception of the Fred Astaire movies.

That was just about an impossible question to answer. Fox had Alien, Star Wars and could I live without them? Then again, all had some really nice films I would hate to not have seen.

Since Alien is my favorite, if I HAD to, I'd choose Fox

Warner Bros had great stars like Flynn, Cagney, and Bogart; M.G.M, also made wonderful films with Lionel Barrymore, Clark Gable, and Spencer Tracey.

For me it would be Universal, 20th Century and MGM. Of course being a fan of the old serials from the 30's and 40's, even Republic would need to be added as well.

Universal , for the monster movies , and WB for the gangster movies, but all had there moments MGM for the fabulous musicals. I'm a monster movie fan first and formost so it has to be Universal for me.

Hammer - I love the films and the actors - very thankful to have a large selection of the marvellous studio's output from the 1950's through to the 1970's on Super 8 - I will never tire of watching such quality productions of Gothic Horror and Suspense. Hammer - I salute you !!!

Well I might be kind of cheating here, but all of them because now say the Bond films which were UA then MGM now Columbia and on Fox blu ray the studios don't matter.

Who would have thought, that M.G.M, who used to boast 'More stars than in Heaven', would one day no longer be making films.

After the last couple of years, sadly a lot of my favourites are in heaven. Boy what a fun place it must be now. But? can you get in? If A&C are on the front desk 'who's on first' 70mm film like a first run roadshow. No red prints no silver discs. Truly heaven.

Some favorites of mine were put out by now defunct (and/or short lived) motion picture companies as well. It would include:
American International Pictures
Compass International Picutres
Film Ventures International
New Line Cinema

Hey guys I love Hammer Films too but they do not qualify on this list as they are not
from or a "Golden Age Of Hollywood Studio" system. British and a much later small fry player
cog in the big machine of the film industry.

The Golden Age Of Hollywood era is from 1915 - 1963.
It started with Birth Of A Nation (1915 ) and ended with Cleopatra ( 1963 ) the
time of the demise of The Studio System.
