Latest issue of Film Collector Mag.

#1 by Hugh Thompson Scott ( deleted ) , Fri May 20, 2016 12:26 am

Just received my copy, some great articles, as always, but I felt that the full page spread devoted to Paul Foster and his
misdemeanour unnecessary. Paul, is suffering for that now, I don't want to resurrect the whole discussion again, but this
left a nasty taste, indeed when my sub runs out, I'll not be renewing.

i wasn't too sure it belonged in the mag either, my Qs & As would have been a better read, they are in the next one.

Well, I look forward to that Tom, but I was bit taken aback when I saw that spread, my code has always been, when someone is knocked down, you don't kick the man. Paul is still serving. That should be enough.

Can anyone here please tell me the edition number of this issue?
I would be interested in getting a copy from Phil and reading that article regarding Paul Foster.

I personally also, don't think it was the place for this type of article , but nevertheless if it sells copies, just like our benal intrusive tabloid press here, it will be printed!

I'd just be interested to read how derogatory some of the comments here were towards Paul, because as Hugh so eloquently highlighted, I'm certain many have committed far worse scandalous and harmful crimes than selling Dvd's imported from China in the grand scheme of things.

He's served his punishment here already here by now I'd have thought.
He really doesn't need anyone further adding to it, not in my book at least.

Thanks again Hugh, ive just looked through it again and now I've seen this was only the original local press report here from Staffordshire, I'm even more baffled as to what place it had featuring in the film magazine here, some months after this article was first published and well documented throughout the film collecting fraternity, for all those interested?

Beats me Andrew, I take no pleasure in some poor soul's suffering, indeed, did you ever see or hear anyone slagging off Simmonds
when he was a bad lad, or vice versa, I thought we were a small community of enthusiasts trying to prop up a corpse of a dead hobby,
support being the word.

Anyone else needs to see, send me your email address and I'll send it, saves you buying the mag. Paul, I do
hope continues in film, we cannot afford his loss, was a great lad to speak to,
and was helpful, I liked the man. I reckon he might eschew the hobby, there were a lot of nasty comments,
but I hope he sticks with it. He always delivered the goods. more importantly, I hope he settles back into his home life.

Take a gander at 8mm forum, Paul still has a lot of friends, it also shows how "guests" view Vidars forum, glad it was left
open, we have nothing to hide, everything to give. "VIDAR RULES OK." If I was still the lad, I'd put that on walls, that'd give the buggers
something to think about.

So, the so called "patron saint" of new releases is not the good guy after all, myself, I wouldn't buy bugger all from him,
a charlatan at best .A not nice person, what more can be said. CHC is a dodgy firm, but he was quite happy to divert it
to Paul, he is worse, shun him. See #15

Just as my findings on Phil, he tells you the tale, then a reason why he can't supply, he puts stuff on lists, but they aren't the films you
wanted, the man is a poor replacement for Derann, indeed piss poor, sorry Phil, I used to trumpet your efforts, until I got wise. A conman of the first water. Do we hear of his misfires on the 8mm stage, he nearly balls'd up with the FFTC routine, as he does, thanks be to Steve O. Put this in your magazine, and Mr Manders accusations, Paul Foster is still revered, are you? that's good reading!

Usually good quality on what I bought from Phil. Has sent a wrong print once, ordered Escape From Astragard, got it, but silent version. Sent me sound version free without me having to return it.

But replying to several questions in a mail seems difficult. If I gotten answers to 25% of my question, that must be max. Now trying to keep mails with one question

Vidar, Phiil is a shit of the first water, the man has no insight or care as to what you want, his "new releases" are for the film "must have"
dunces, the guy is a conman. Mr Mark Mander, obviously has a record, as have I, of the shit service from CHC. I USED to trumpet his
bit to the film fraternity, but not anymore, He did insult his customers, on his DVDs, they could be bought far cheaper on Amazon, but he beratted his customers for lack of sales, well he is an ex copper, an ignorant twat at best. He is someone who offers little on your film, but sells well beyond, like 4X, so, no wonder he
has got bigger premises, well not on me, fuck him.

Let us see if he delivers the new trailers. Unjustly, Mr. Todd is not credited by Phil, which is very unfair. He says (Phil) that Mark has nothing to do with it. Also seem the other forum wants credit (on the box?) ... I am fairly sure many here as well as the Facebook has a few added to the list (which first had to be over 30, now it must be even more)

The result of this will probably set my mind on pro or con

Vidar, I couldn't give a monkey's toss on anything from Sheard, he is not worth dealing with, he is there to
make money from you, not from me, but from the collectors who will still buy from him, everything is top dollar, well, I've seen through
"Mr s/8", a twister at best, long may he not reign. As I've said, a f*****g wrong 'un, I have yet to be proved wrong. He'll give you £25.00
on a top 16mm print, then sell it at £100.00 plus, yeah a great guy. Go back to # 15. Then check with 8mm forum, the man is a saint........
Check out 8mm forum . under" classics film magazine", If anything I am honest, anyone that takes a cheap shot at a guy......well need I say more, he was an ex policeman, we surely trust them? Bunch of lying b******s.
