Saturday matinee in the loft cinema.With the weather so bad what better way to end the year with great Beatles film.
Originally made in 1964,my version is the restored Miramax 1998/2000 version on 2 x2000 Kodak print.It is in pristine condition,no splices,absolutely perfect with most excellent sound. I acquired the print some while ago and was the subject of a previous entry.
The film follows the boys over a two day period leading up to a televised performance by the Beatles,at the same time looking after Paul’s grandfather.Besides the Beatles the film stared William Brambell,Norman Rossington,John Junkin,Deryck Gyler,to name but a few who come into contact with the Fab Four.
The film provides an insight into a country which has changed so much since it was made,but the music is as good as it was then,a film that has stood the test of time one might say social history at its best with music and comedy thrown in.
