The Greek composer Miki Theodorakis passed away today,best known for his music composed for the the films Zorba the Greek ,Z,Serpico to name but a few.I personally think Z is one of the greatest composition going .It is surprising how many films he composed for when you look at his biography.Perhaps not as well known in this country but non the less a well respected great composer sadly missed.

Very sad. I heard this on the radio today and was surprised to hear about his whirlwind of a life. Also, i didn't know that during the Greece Civil war he was captured and tortured including being buried alive. Looking on Wikipedia i was amazed at just how much music he composed.
Obviously Zorba the Greek is his stand out piece known to billions around the world.
