Released as a mini feature on 3 x 400ft reels from MGM, (and i think maybe a 400ft version, if someone could confirm), this is a very well edited edition, MGM also used a couple of dissolves to smooth one or two of the edits. The print of our copy is very good, a sharp image with excellent colours and it doesn't appear to have any fade from what we can see which, being an MGM release is very good as many of these have faded now.
The sound is good although our particular print does have a low volume for the first 20 seconds or so before suddenly coming up to normal sound, If anything it could do with a bit more bass but as always, we put it through a stereo amp, so no problem for us.
You cant beat a bit of Ray Harryhausen special effects and with this film also being produced by Ray and Charles H. Schneer it really does have the look of the Jason and Sinbad films. Great fun.
