Clash of the Titans 2 x 600ft MGM colour sound

Released as a mini feature on 3 x 400ft reels from MGM, (and i think maybe a 400ft version, if someone could confirm), this is a very well edited edition, MGM also used a couple of dissolves to smooth one or two of the edits. The print of our copy is very good, a sharp image with excellent colours and it doesn't appear to have any fade from what we can see which, being an MGM release is very good as many of these have faded now.
The sound is good although our particular print does have a low volume for the first 20 seconds or so before suddenly coming up to normal sound, If anything it could do with a bit more bass but as always, we put it through a stereo amp, so no problem for us.

You cant beat a bit of Ray Harryhausen special effects and with this film also being produced by Ray and Charles H. Schneer it really does have the look of the Jason and Sinbad films. Great fun.
Clash of the Titans is a 1981 fantasy adventure film directed by Desmond Davis and written by Beverley Cross which is loosely based on the Greek myth of Perseus. It stars Harry Hamlin, Judi Bowker, Burgess Meredith, Maggie Smith and Laurence Olivier. The film features the final work of stop motion visual effects artist Ray Harryhausen. It was released on June 12, 1981 and grossed $41 million at the North American box office, which made it the 11th-highest-grossing film of the year.

Your copy looks great! I also have this 3 x 400’ and my copy is pretty good. Those are some nice screen shots. I think I have some screenshots from my print that I took when I screened it. If you don’t mind Tom I can post them here too.

No problem Bill, il be pleased to see them.
The only thing i didnt mention, and its the only critisism about this edit is that the ending is very abrubt, but that is often the case with many cut downs. Its still one of MGMs best 8mm films.
