Missouri 8mm projector

#1 by Gwyn Morgan , Thu Apr 08, 2021 5:08 pm

This little gem came my way for free, sorry I could not turn down a bargain.Never seen one before and know nothing about.
Missouri 8mm Italian Cirse Astro.Silent.Comes in nice box,and as can be seen in near mint condition,so much so the wife says she wants to display this one.Works fine.

Apparently made in the 1950’s I assume in Italy, the blue box came in a ruined cardboard box saying Toronto and Roma .
Something different.

Gwyn,
Classical look to it for sure...very pleasing design so it does indeed deserve a display. Old wire style spool adds a nice touch--did you get another to match?
A very nice find there...

The Cirse Company in Italy was renamed as Silma in 1963.
The wire spool is by Eumig.

Greg the spool is spare of mine put on for the photo, yes I have a couple of these and as Maurice says it’s a Eumig.Big mistake placing it on this machine though as the centre hole of the spool is a tiny bit wider than the spindle push lock for the spool,so I found the lock had disappeared inside and would not allow the spool to pull off in the normal manner.Had to force the spool away in the end and will not be using on this machine again.
Thank you for the info Maurice could not find much info on this one.
Tom got machine from Ivybridge having been brought down from an attic clearance in Exeter.
Going to have to go a long way to catch up with Maurices collection and I reckon someone would have a say before long🥴🥴
