Had a look at my Chinon SS1200 today, I ordered a new pressure pad for the sound head as the old one looked like the springs were weak on it after a sound wobble, the sound was lower than usual, an easy fix as it's one screw to remove it, cleaned off some old grease and applied some fresh plus a new bulb as I've never changed it in 15 years plus, sound and light now as good as ever,Mark

Surprising how such a simple job makes a big difference. Another machine i have never seen. Were these exclusive to Dixons?

I'm not sure about Dixons Tom, I know Derann were selling a few of them, it's been a great machine and although I've not used it loads I've always used it, has some nice features like the small screen and auto stop when the film ends, stereo sound and variable speed so you can rerecord with it , I dont want to jinx it but it's been ultra reliable over the years, Mark

I thought Chinon were exclusive to Dixons, another one of their exclusive brands was Prinz.

I have got one of these, but it is badged as a "Revue Lux Sound 80 Stereo". These take a 1200' spool.
The light beam can either be used for normal projection or a mirror can be slid in its path to illuminate the small built-in screen.

Where did you order the pressure pad from Mark ?, i also have one of these machines, is it a van eck part ?.

I've just had a reply about the SS1200 parts, I bought the last one(pressure pad and belt set) unfortunately,.

If it's any help, the pressure pad does come apart so its possible to renew the springs , if I couldn't get a replacement then that's what I was looking to do, Mark
