Today’s offering is The Deserter a 1970 western directed by Burt Kennedy.The cast is headed by Bekim Fehmiu ,with Richard Chennai,Chuck Norris,Ricardo Montanan,Ian Bannen,Slim Pickens,woody Strode,Patrick Wayne,and John Huston.So some cast and to be honest I had not seen this one before and I was not disappointed.An excellent western, Dirty Dozen western style,in its day it had a AA certificate and one can see why .Totally unPC ,violent,funny a rip roaring good film.
The film came on two spools one a 2300, the other 1600 which was completely overflowing out of the box.So for showing all on one reel.The film had a couple of splices but good condition,scope and booming sound.The start was a bit strange,straight off the countdown into the film head on with the title etc some five minutes in.
If you get the chance well worth a view if you like westerns.

Yes it does look good in scope but I was also trying a couple of different lens and the picture is not as wide as I can go ,but it is quite sharp at this size.
Ian Bannan changed during the course of the film from an English gentleman in the service of the queen to a renegade gent ,and he did it very well as said quite unusual for him.
Yes the muppets get everywhere ,three is a proliferation of soft toys around the room my grandchildren tell me I must have them to watch the films when the wife doesn’t watch 🤪🤪🤪🤪
