Emmanuelle

#1 by Gwyn Morgan , Wed Nov 11, 2020 8:34 pm

I have a copy of Emmanuelle which is marked as 2x400 which I alaways assumed is the two 400 versions listed on the super8 data base Emmanuelle and More from Emmanuelle on one reel.
Part one was badly damaged for the first couple of minutes with splices and chopped badly and the sprockets were torn.In short a mess.
So I won part 1 of fleabay.fine got it ran it thinking I could re splice this in to make my 2x400 good again.Wrong my new 400 version is different in a number of ways to my part 1 on the 2x400.
My question is does anyone know how many versions there is/were of the 400 versions of part 1? Both parts have the Columbia logo.

i thought it was just two releases, Emmanuelle and more from Emmanuelle. I've been looking for these with decent colour but they all seem to be red, or close to it.

Tom that’s what I thought No one was more surprised than me to find the two part 1’s were slightly different. To be honest I only decided to view this film a couple of days ago ,I have had it for years I can’t even remember where it came from.As you say the colour is going on all I’ve got of this one.I have decided to just put together the best of what I’ve got which I think will turn out to be longer than my original two reeler.
My original question was more out of curiosity that maybe there was originally a full feature.

Given the subject matter, you would have thought they would have turned blue.............

We had a similar thing years ago with trying to get a decent quality print of the 200ft jason and the argonauts part 1.we sent back a faulty one but recieved another that had a different opening and was shorter.we had four before getting what we wanted.two slighrly different edits. Mailmaster kept denying there was different edits.we saw differently.

Thank you David, yes I reckon on the strength of that there are obviously different versions unless you have the complete feature.I have no interest in the full feature I will make do now with splicing in the sections I have from the new reel and make do with what I have got.
Thanks all
