New insert for Waterloo in scope

#1 by Tom Photiou , Mon Nov 11, 2019 8:23 pm

Yesterday we managed to make our copy of Waterloo an almost perfect copy. You may recall we have an Agfa print of this film but the first 8 minutes was nothing more than a red repair insert. Clearly a cheap crappy Eastman repair section that ad lost its colour but also had a large jump at the start with around 30 seconds missing. Well, this has now been remedied with a new section and it looks first class. I will be putting this into the film tomorrow evening for its screening over the next few weeks.

Hi Gwyn, yes i had this part made up.no other option and its a film well worth preserving. Its now gone from what i would describe as a good print to an excellent print. The sound on the new part matches perfectly as do the frame and focus.
