True Tom, he is Conservatoire trained, I have the documentary where he says, "The piano is not my first instrument", but plays it like he was born with the bloody thing! I understand he played trumpet on Bruno Nicolai scores, and vice versa, they were mistakenly thought to be the same man, eg Leo Nichols Dan Savio as you know, Morricone says he refused to listen to Nicolai scores, which I personally do not believe, these two men between them defined the Italian Western, along with Piccioni, Ferrio, Bacalov, Ortolani, Fidenco, Rustichelli (Evirust), and many others, one thing in common.... Allesendroni, "The Whistler" helped define the genre known
as the "Spaghetti Western", which was quoined by Professor Christopher Frayling, many years ago, myself, I prefer "Italian Western", indeed, the Opera of Violence, never has much bloodshed been displayed in such style.
