What did you get for Christmas film wise?

#1 by David Ollerearnshaw , Sat Dec 26, 2015 1:53 pm

Although I bought it myself Whem World's Collide 16mm feature. I hung a empty 220ft super 8 reel hoping for a feature, and a pair of nylon stockings. Neither got filled . Other than that quiet day.

Best Wishes.

Nothing here either. Only five unmentionables :-(

Did buy myself one though not in time for Christmas. Looking forward to getting Raid on Entebbe feature on Super 8

Hi guys and Merry Christmas!

This year I had a film related present from my daughters. I dont know how they found it. It is a reproduction of a newspaper add from 1914. My grandfather was a cinema owner in the early days, and run several cinemas. This add is for his ambulating "Electric cinema".

Nothing at all this year. Did however get a lot of unmentionables and a Christmas Day show at my sons home via his Video/Digital Projection set-up. Very nice it was too. Of course I am not going to mention that. Hahaha !

It's a great film and an even better Christmas present Tom. Well done you!

As said, not even a shiny disc for me, the wife never encourages my interests especially when they're not hers also! Ha ha.

I did however, today finally finish up buying a new Yamaha Home Cinema amp from Richer Sounds.
Long overdue I have to say. Now I have to spend a couple of days setting it up from scratch. Something I never enjoy doing till everything works in the manner I want it to do.

Particularly tricky assigning the HDMI outputs to work how you want them to when running to both TV and Projector where the input switching is concerned.

Oh well it will keep me occupied early January no doubt.

What Did I Get, well, that is a loaded question, Susan, although buying me some films before Christmas, decided I needed some
night attire that resembles the ensemble that they wear in places like San Quentin, or Sing Sing, a top in black and grey hoops
with grey pants, plus a huge book on horrible Crimes, my mate bought me a couple of books on the Mafia and some hard nut in
a British Jail, I am definately giving out the wrong signals! "Don't you like them?" she asked, "I would have preferred the "Government Arrows" we used to use in this country, no, I bloody well don't like 'em!" Maybe I was lucky, no socks!

No film related items for me but I'm hoping to start collecting 16 mm prints again in 2016. My health (back issues) are still an issue but I'm a tough old sod and will be back on track sooner than later! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
